Nokia Ovi Suite sucks!!!

It was a bull shit week with Ovi Suite where i lost almost 32 contacts from my mobile for no reason. I was carried away by the look and feel of Ovi suite - however, the basic functionality was awful. It did not sync up well.

* I couldnt find an option that would help me pick a direction to sync. Dont know if it is available with any sync app. But i would love to have it. I always wanted to sync up from my mobile to the app (MOBILE >> OVI). I would only go to the other direction when i find a contact missing in my mobile. Then, i would expect an option to 'pick and copy' only selective contacts to my mobile.
* There is no facility to view a 'diff' of contacts on my mobile vs the one that is already in Ovi.
* I dont even understand the philosophy behind the 'default' behavior of syncing. What is the design you think you understood, NOKIA?

* WORST is the online sync, which spoiled the most. It took only the names from the contacts and dropped the numbers. And when i found online that not all the contacts are synced (and actually missed to notice that it had no numbers but only names for that it actually copied), i did a second try and that brought everything down from online ovi (which only had names) to my phone and i hence lost most of the contacts. Now my mobile has just names. What am i supposed to do with it?

Does NOKIA really care? To me, Nokia PC Suite is far far far better than OVI. Please stop marketing Ovi. It sucks!!!

MagicJack in India?

Well, it doesnt have a market in India yet, but has the best use case.
I call my US and Canada friends for free...
Just plugin to USB in your PC/laptop, hook your telephone line to it or just use your headphone with mic on your computer. thats it.

* You just need a broadband connection at home
+ You get a US number
+ You call as if you call a local number
* Just take care of the power supply to your modem and/or router. Chennai suffers from frequent power cuts and so do my calls.

What more?
* Call any US/Canada mobile or landline for free
* Free for one year (just the initial cost of $45)
* Upgrade to "free for next five years" for just $55

MagicJack is Awesome!
All the best!!!

Photography

This Eleven lettered jargon has inspired me a lot, pixel by pixel. Am getting crazy over clicking anything i see.

Few samples of mine are here at http://www.thebigpicturelibrary.com/inspiregates

Just started to do it, am gonna drill down this earth, not to sands and particles but to pixels, to my extent possible.

...am also hungry about 'best' digicams and researching them. drop your great experiences, if any here.

Wait for the day i click you.

My Bike! ?

I dint want my friends to put an interrogation (as if "do u have it still?") on reading the title and so I did it myself. Don't worry guys... am not goin2 story here!

One single bike - Bajaj Pulsar, black - steered my life wide away from the direction I was walking along..! Consistent drive > 50kmph since its first service, always longing for a good reason to go on a long ride - best being the ECR chennai-pondicherry 2 hours drive, frequent freak outs with (g)friends, one penalty for wrong parking in Tambaram RPF staff area, first falldown - scratch on left shoulder+ >1500 bucks repair, second hit at the back of chennai's most vulnerable "thanni lorry" - 0 phys risk + 1500 bucks for head light replacement, third but biggest scenic event at koyambedu junction - made few two-wheelers, an auto-wala, a brand new maruti omni, a tata indica and a tata sumo to park their damaged vehicles at nearest police stn to claim insurance + left wrist fracture + 4 weeks medication + 6k bucks repairing, last - but not least, truly - hit against a median wall in the centre of a highway + communited fracture on right knee patella bone + a major surgery + 80k bucks spent on hospitalization alone + 4 months bed rest + Loss of Pay + 25k debt + 20% weight loss + under medication status till date + insurance claim overhead expense of 4k towards 17k total + loss in resale transaction of 20k bucks, is the summary of my 10 months life with the bike.

"Is that all?" is what u think?... Na... Na... The brave guy who bought the pulsar from me, ignoring sentiments of a multi-accident bike, broke his right knee, but with less severity. Same leg, same knee, same kinda pain yet a bit little expensive than me! - Alas! its definitely (g)ale!

Today, I feel pretty comfortable with "TVS XL Super", a cost-effective, good mileage moped. Quite easy in handling (other than my biceps pain for just holding the bar), lightest in weight, I feel it my ideal match! Could have gone for a 100cc bike like splendour - less powerful, less weighing and good performance - but me not being able to kick, as of now, and waiting for the accident's anniversary to bed down for a second surgery followed by another 6 months of medication and physiotheraphy, i dont find a better option for atleast 2 years from now. Save some money, save some energy, gain some weight, settle down soon and relax in a four wheeler is what i dream of :-)

Guys - no lessons to tell you - just a hint - drive slowly, reach safely!

Pudhupettai

Pudhupettai - to me its NOT BAD.

Taking the theme into consideration, Pudhupettai has done the best to portray the intricacies in the life of a Gangster, who usually is involved in politics, at the back end. Its true that a gangster cannot establish himself for a long period. "the sword slips thro' hands and he gets slipped thro' the way" is the fact. Realism in political moves, facts in gang war revenges, inability in survival are all mannered and punctuated.

Is Dhanush the best one for the story? No! Skinny, weak and meager look doesn't catch up with the story. But you cannot also say the gangster should only be hulky. Characterization, apart from suitability is a credit to Dhanush, here. Has trained well to meet the local slang, practice and style. However, this shouldn't have been as painful as to Sneha or SoniaAgarwal - coz, he is just a chennaitte!

"unnecessarily SoniaAgarwal..." is the comment by most of the public. But the movie cannot really go good only with heroism, murders and blood stains. Also, second wifing, is most common with the character and is expected. May be Selvaraghavan could have introduced her in the first part of the film that it wouldn't have looked this odd. Sneha, appreciable for her change in role, has did her best - but could have been livelier than this. May be she had always had in mind about her to-be-in-laws blaming (as she had said), of which she is extra careful! She is found not-sticking to the chennai slang, through out her role - went unnoticed by many!

Azhagam Perumal, politician on screen, had strictly followed TN politics, according to the story. Highlighting himself at the sequence of nasty dialogues "pannaada, porambokku" followed immediately without missing the flow by "senthamizh kavinjan naan..." deserves clap for his performance! Moorthy and Anbu, the gang heads should also be noticed for sticking to their roles.

"Selvaraghavan could have done better" is my opinion, looking at him as a director who gave a flaw-less "Kaadhal Kondaen". May be he would have missed something on work, by trying to direct Sonia Agarwal personally towards him, as much as possible? Said that she was found unnecessarily in the spots could be a ....... ? The spirit raised till the break was lost somewhere in the second half and was found as "trying again" near the end, which had failed. Yet there are points to be pointed out that he tried to expressed... Dhanush expressing how would one feel soon after he overcomes his fear of first murder, the zing thing that overrides ones mind to attain the power, the lust towards which makes him feel that he is everything, to the last saying "uyiroda irukanum kannu... adhaan mukkiyam", "overa aadnaa ipdidhaan" are to be glanced. Climax bringing the reality into picture where "kokki Kumar" is taken away by the opponent party leader, brings the comic fact that one shouldn't deny.

last to say - "Survival of the fittest" could have been "Fit to survive!"
